Matawan Football Alumni Foundation 11th Annual Awards Banquet Update

Published 3/23/2015

Our 11th Annual banquet was huge success! A big THANK YOU! to our business sponsors, athletes, their families and Alumni who sponsored student athletes for our 11th Annual awards banquet. The MFAF committee greatly appreciates your continued support to this incredibly successful program.

MC Scott Bellone, Speaker Mike Luzio, and inductors Rick Derechailo, Rickey Butler and Mr. Rizzo did a great job.

Inductees Gary Weber and Eddie Steward did a great job too!

We paused to remember Vinny Migliore, John Gorman and Coach Kaye’s Father.

Scholarships awarded Friday night to the following student athletes:

MFAF Award – Dance Team member Marianne Santimauro

Peter Bellone Sr. Award –  Jake Weber

Amadeo Bongiorno Award – Nick Malta

Other Awards:

MVP – Justin Ferrara

Offensive Player of the Year -  Devin Spann

Defensive Player of the Year -  DeJohn Rogers

Lineman of the Year – Dan Corredor

Special Teams Player of the Year – Shawn Ramcharan

Rookie of the Year – George Pearson

Each year gets better and better. We truly believe, in our 11 years of existence, that we have made a difference as there have been 3 State Championships in the last 5 years.

Prior to 2009 there was a 17 year drought. Let’s keep our support going!!! This team only had 10 seniors so 2015 can be another special year!
