Hall of Fame Nomination

In an effort to be more consistent, inclusive and transparent, the MFAF committee will accept nominations via the form below for our Hall of Fame. Nominees can be former player or coaches.

The inductees selected will be announced by December and they are honored at the MFAF Banquet typically held in March the following year.

Athlete Criteria

Please list complete details of high school and post high school honors, achievements and recognition, (all-county, all-conference, all-state, all-American, statistics, elected captain, playoff appearances, championship appearance’s, collegiate playing careers, professional playing careers, etc.)

Coach Criteria

Please provide complete background information pertaining to involvement in athletics, coaching positions, tenure, coaching records and honors, professional affiliations, etc.

Additional Information

Please provide a brief synopsis of why you think this individual should be inducted into the Hall of Fame and include any supporting documents.

A nominee’s outstanding performance or record in a varsity sport at Matawan Regional High School should differentiate that individual from his peers. Those nominees who were national champions, All-Americans, all-state selections, and/or conference or county player of the year honorees and whose greatness continued into the collegiate, professional arenas may distinguish themselves from their peers. A nominee’s record of sportsmanship and lifestyle of integrity and probity should serve as a model for current and future Matawan Regional High School student-athletes.

All nominations must include sufficient documentation to provide the committee with compelling evidence of each candidate’s qualifications (the onus is on the nominator).

Nominees who are not elected during the year in which they were nominated will remain eligible for election for a period of six (6) years following their initial nomination.
