Huskie Alumni Park was the idea of Jim, Jack and Glen Dwyer who were looking for a way to honor their late father James C. Dwyer Sr. Their father was very passionate about the team, the school and the Aberdeen-Matawan community as a whole. All 3 sons and grandson Jimmy were captains of their respective football teams. The Dwyer family funded the entire project. The total cost came close to $80,000. Proceeds from the sales of the engraved bricks would then be used to fund a scholarship given out annually in the name of James C. Dwyer Sr.. A tremendous gesture of love for their father and support for the athletic programs, the school and the community.
The park was architected by Matawan alum Dennis Devino and built by his brother Robert Devino, also a Matawan alum. The electric was done by John Faccas of Quality Electric, father of a former Matawan player. Landscaping was donated by Charlie Renner, Billy Renner, and George Renner of BC&G Landscaping, all 3 are Matawan alums. The flag pole was donated by Matawan alum Michael Ash of Garden State Fire Alarm. Members of the James C. Dwyer Sr. Huskie Alumni Park committee were Scott Bellone, Rick Derechailo, Bruce Derechailo, Joe Martucci, Jim Byrd, Glen Dwyer and Jeff Shaw.
